POPING | Cyber Jiaotu
This is not an ordinary fidget slider,
but a cyber-mechanical artifact forged from time and guardianship.
The overall design of POPING Cyber Jiaotu centers on a steam-inspired mechanical aesthetic, blending cyber-industrial design with elements of Eastern mythology.
The front design draws inspiration from Jiaotu, one of the Nine Sons of the Dragon in ancient Chinese mythology, a creature symbolizing protection, warding off evil, and safeguarding the home. Its traditional door-knocker form is abstractly reconstructed into a futuristic mechanical expression.
Jiaotu is reimagined as a mechanical beast head,
its four limbs firmly anchoring a “2026” ring structure,
as if time itself is locked in place—
not to mark time, but to hold it steady.
The back features a laser-cut hollow copper inlay, engraved with the Chinese phrase “宏图大展”, conveying wishes for great ambition and boundless success.
Within the cold precision of industrial metal, a layer of Eastern blessing is embedded.
The intricate mechanical textures and layered structure add depth to the DIY tactile experience—every push feels like interacting with a miniature mechanical system.
Structurally, it adopts a dual-mode design,
allowing instant switching between smooth and damped action.
Whether for stress relief, tactile play, or everyday EDC carry, it adapts seamlessly to different preferences.
Precision-crafted through CNC machining,
the main body is made of Damascus steel, paired with brass inlays,
creating a distinct cyber-steam aesthetic through the contrast of metals.
With a total weight of approximately 85 g, it delivers a solid, satisfying presence in hand.
